My second time at incheon airport, but my first time at the Korean Air Business lounge. To be honest, it’s not that different from the Matina lounge directly across from it. It might even be worse. Continue reading for why I believe so.

The Checkin

The check in experience was fairly easy, and standard. I just walked in, they scanned my boarding pass, and I was allowed access. When I walked in, there were some lockers to store your luggage on the right side, near the entrance. I thought this was a great idea for long layovers, but it was full of bags already, so we couldn’t use it.

The lounge itself was fairly crowded. It seems like more than just business class fliers use the lounge as there were a couple of hundred people in there packed. Imagine it as an Amex centurion lounge but less…upscale? The Matina and Matina Gold lounges, although open to priority pass users, had less than half the traffic from my memory.

The Food

Hot foods

The lounge had a good mix of Korean foods, both hot and cold, to choose from. I greatly enjoyed the bulgogi chicken and mushroom and rice. The fruit was also very fresh and sweet. There was also a ramen stand, which a good portion of the lounge guests were eating. I wasn’t impressed, nor disappointed. It was good.

water and milk

There was a fridge with water in these little plastic cups, it also had milk in there. I am not exactly sure why it was set up like this, but I can appreciate the cold milk and water which my time in Korea led me to believe Koreans disliked.

The Service

The service was non-existent. I didn’t see a single person around to pick up the used eats or trash we accumulated in our few hours snacking in the lounge. I can’t say I was disappointed, but this was a first for me.

The Overall Score

If you are going to do a layover or start your journey in ICN. The Korean Air business lounge is not it. Maybe the first class lounge is better. But if choosing between the myriad of Priority pass lounges and Korean Air lounge. Go for a Priority pass lounge—you’ll enjoy yourself more. I will give this lounge a:
