For my flight to Doha, since I was flying the QSuite product out of DFW. I had access to the American Airlines Flagship Lounge, as a Oneworld Business class ticket. Although the Qatar Airways app/website only mentions access to the Admirals Club, don’t be fooled. Or you will miss out on a wonderful experience.

The Checkin

The Checkin experience was fast and easy. The lounge is located on the 5th Floor of Terminal D, in between D21 and D22. It is right next to the Capital One Lounge that we have visited numerous times because my wife has the Capital One Venture X.

When we approached the check in counter, all we had to do was scan our boarding pass- and we were welcomed in.

The Food

As soon as we found a place to sit (which didn’t take long because of how hard it is to get into the lounge, and how large it is), I had to get some food. I ate some Chicken curry, which is a staple lounge dish with potatoes, and a margarita. It was delicious.

Noodle Bar

On my second go at it, I stopped by the noodle bar and made myself some ramen with tonkatsu broth. The noodles were your standard Japanese noodles, but the broth was killer!

There wasn’t much in the way of dessert. No cookies, cake, or croissants- but I did enjoy myself one hell of a banana.

There is actually a better offering when it comes to food if you have access, called the Flagship First Dining. You can only get into here if you are flying American metal on their flagship first product. The food in here is made to order, with a sit down service akin to a restaurant. I have experienced similar service in the Polaris lounge flying United business. Man do I wish I could have gone!

The Service

The service was great! We had numerous attendants approach whenever we had finished our food. They took the used dishes and cups and absconded with them.

Other amenities included nice, clean bathrooms and a separate shower area. The Lounge also included comfortable seats, and great views of the airside.

The Overall Score

This is my first time rating a lounge, so it is difficult since many of the aspects are circumstantial or can be perceived differently by others. However, when I amalgamate all of my other lounge experiences, I cannot help but regard this as more peaceful and personal. Is it the top food I have had? No, I’d rank it below Delta in Atlanta, or Amex Centurion in the same terminal. But it was good. Is it the most amenities? No, It is definitely less than the Al Mourjan in Doha, Qatar. But it’s serviceable. What about the best views? It’s still less than the views Delta’s lounges provide, but it’s fine. If I had to rank this lounge, I’d give it a:
