Ah, the Al Mourjan Lounge in Doha. It is actually 2 different lounges with the same name. One on the 2nd floor on the East end of the airport, and the other on the 3rd Floor on the North end of the airport. We stayed at both lounges to experience them both and compare the two.
The Checkin
The check in experience is very fast and easy. In both cases, there was someone waiting at the escalator/elevator before you climb into the lounge who verified your access via your plane ticket. As soon as we got to the lounge entrance, there was someone waiting to escort us to seating, or sit us down for some food.

The views from each lounge were entirely different. The first lounge was grand in design but quaint in size. There was a second floor dedicated to dining, and the buffet had chefs who plated your food for you.

The second lounge was located above and around “The Garden”. This area had several bushes and trees arranged in a maze with a water feature at the base of one of the large hollow funnels. If you have to choose between the two, they have the same meal options, but the 1st one was more crowded. Luckily, the second was closer to our gate. You aren’t missing out on the experience if you go to either one. But the views of the garden are quite a spectacle.

The Food
Both Lounges have the same semi buffet, ordering experience. You have a buffet full of hot and cold foods for you to immediately eat, and some specialty options via a menu at each seat. I had some delicious noodles at the buffet, and some French toast via the menu.

I would say the food is quite enjoyable. Since I am not a breakfast food kind of guy, I was a bit disappointed with their offerings. But the average person would love it, I’m sure. I only wish I could have been there for Lunch or Dinner. Seemed like they bring out the big guns during that time.

The Service
The service was good. The servers were kind and did all they could to get us our food in fast time. They also brought drinks and were very cheerful, even in the early hours of the morning. I would say the only knock would have been my experience in the 2nd floor version. After the drinks were served, the waiter never came back. I wanted to order more, but I guess they were suffering from success.

The Overall Score
Being my favorite lounge in the world, It did not disappoint. The views of the garden were stunning, and I enjoyed the design and food of the lounge a-lot. There were, of course, many other amenities, like a spa, gym, and rest area I didn’t get to experience this time around because we didn’t have much time. If I had been there for dinner, this would be a 6/5, but alas I had arrived for breakfast. So I will give this place a :
5/5
