Hotel Drover sits where the Stockyards tip their hat to the Trinity, tucked along Fort Worth’s historic Stockyards district. Step out the front door and you’re in the middle of Mule Alley’s brick corridor of restored barns, with Billy Bob’s, Cowtown Coliseum, and the daily cattle drives all within a lazy few minutes’ walk.
The hotel opened in March 2021 as a Marriott Autograph Collection property, built as the showpiece of the multi‑million‑dollar Mule Alley redevelopment and the broader Stockyards Heritage project. It was designed as a kind of modern bunkhouse for trail bosses who now carry laptops instead of lariats.

Location
The premier hotel in the confines of the Stockyards. There is another hotel there, the Hyatt Place, It's more economical and has free breakfast but it feels sort of out of place, while Hotel Drove feels like its all part of the same experience.
If you want to see the cattle drive, eat excellent barbecue, or just want to take a load off after drinking a little too much at Billy Bob's - look no further.
The Room

I stayed in a Deluxe Double Queen room on the 5th floor. We got a good view of the entrance of the hotel and the winding trail (and flooding river) below.
The room itself was very nice, it was stocked full of snacks and drinks with even more in the mini fridge hidden in the coat closet.

The beds were very nice and comfortable. The pillows were plush and soft. The room even had Chromecast, which to this point I had only seen in Hyatt hotels.
By far my favorite part of the room was how the AC was completely configurable and boy did it work! I had the room a chilly 66 degrees at night so I didn't have to sit through a blistering night as I have been forced into at other properties.

The Room had a very nice shower with a rainfall shower head, and a distinctly Texas™ sink.

Service
The service was immaculate. From the Valet, and bellman, to check in and room service. The service at breakfast was fantastic as well. I really felt the southern hospitality in my short stay.
I honestly wish I had more to say here but I don't have a single bit of criticism.

Breakfast

My favorite meal was fantastic! I had a breakfast burger with red potatoes. I dipped the wedges in their house made hot sauce, it had a little kick to it. It went perfect with my BBQ burger.

I ate the burger so fast, I forgot to get a picture. But you can see my potatoes and the different sauces they brought.

My wife and I also split some of their french toast! It both tasted well and was presented well. I loved the little banana slices on top. The caramel sauce wasn't ideal. But I am sure someone out there would love it.
Overall Score
It's a 5/5
Hotel Drover is the undisputed champ of the Stockyards—strutting right into Mule Alley's heart like it owns the joint (spoiler: it does). You're steps from cattle drives, Billy Bob's, and BBQ that'll make your arteries sing hallelujah. Hotel Drover feels like it was born in a barn and raised on Fort Worth swagger.
Rooms hit like a Texas tornado of awesome. Beds softer than a cowboy's drawl, Chromecast in room, Texas sized amount of snacks and alcohol, and a shower that would make even Beyonce want to cuff it.
Service? Immaculate.
The whole breakfast spread slaps. Good luck trying to pick just one thing!
If you are ever on the west side of DFW, and want to make a night out on the stockyards. Stop here, you won't be disappointed.
